Axiom Mesh Shopping Bagsket

I haven't been much of a basket man in my cycling life. As a kid I used to wear a backpack when riding to school and in my adult life that transfered over to pannier bags. But in some way there is this side of me that found the Axiom Mesh Shopping Bagsket not only a unique mix of basket and bag, but a piece of cycling equipment that was lacking from my bike.
Is it a bag or is it a basket? The name Bagsket probably has us all confused, but lets be realistic. This is a basket! It just mounts on your pannier rack. I assume that when the Mesh Shopping Bagsket was being designed they had a certain consumer in mind, and the type that totes beer around was probably not it. But I figure that this is a tough test for an item that some might think is a little dainty. And after an 18 pack and even a two four were put into it, it still stood tall.
The mounting hardwear is the same as most Axiom pannier bags. It consist or 2 large top hooks as well as nob and a small lower hook to prevent the Bagsket from jumping around. The hardwear works good. It is a simple design, but after years of using Axiom bags, the design has yet to fail me.
This is designed for shopping so the Bagsket has a handle for carrying off the bike, but I did find that when fully loaded with stuff (i.e. Beer) that it was very difficult to mount on a rack. This would still be partially true if I had a Bagsket full of baguettes. It is not impossible, but takes a bit of work, especially if the load is heavy and the bike is not stable.
I currently have this hooked up to my touring rig, but it will soon find its home on a cruiser bike, which is possible more suited for such a thing. All around I was impressed with the Mesh Shopping Bagsket and found it to be a super tough design. A good all around item for any commuter going to get groceries or beer.
