Crumpler The Complete Seed Messenger Bag

July 14, 2009

Crumpler has been making some very interesting bags over the years, with some more interesting names. The Complete Seed Messenger Bag is the newest version of the CD3 messenger bags. And although they call it a messenger bag it is far more suited to the average daily cyclist, than a working messenger.

The Complete Seed is built tough, made of water resistant 1000D shell on 300D Ripstop lining, and seems to be able to handle the rigors or life extremely well. There is no chance that this bag is going to be falling apart any time soon. The shoulder strap is nice and wide, 2 inches to be exact, and has a well padded cover that can be moved to make the load more comfortable.

Messenger bags can usually haul a lot of stuff and The Complete Seed is no exception. With 22 litres of cargo space you can fit a whole lot of stuff in it. With out even trying I fit shoes, hoody, camera, helmet and lock. And there is space to fit more. Stuffing this bag full is where things get tricky though. It is essentially made of 3 panels, which makes the shape get a little bulgy when loaded up. I found the fact that there is no back pad and the the bulging bag to be a little uncomfortable while riding.

It took me a little while to figure out the stabalization strap, and when I did, I still was not too sure. The bag works, and lets be honest, it looks good. Crumpler wins style points with every product it makes. And they do not forget about the small things either. THere are some small pockets inside for your keys and wallet too.

Although this bag can hold a lot, it is more suited to those wanting to carry a light load and look good doing it. And there is nothing wrong with that. If you are a working messenger, I would stay away, very far away. Load up your gear and head to the gym with this bag.
