JBR Keirin Shirts
January 4, 2010
It seems as fixed gear bicycles grow in popularity, so to does track cycling. For some it is fashion, and other the world of Keirin racing is not only sport but honor. Okay, now I would love to say I follow track racing, but besides the odd race on the internet I don't seem to watch it much, so this is where the fashion side of things come in. JBR has come out with a couple of great new shirts that evoke the image of the Keirin.
Both of these shirts feature some pretty good construction, standard t-shirt stuff, and are made of 100% cotton. These shirts are sized a little small, and although I would normally wear a large, I opted for the XL and it fit great.
The black shirt has a great star pattern diagonally across both the fron and back which almost creats a wrap around image. There is Japanese writing on a couple of places on this shirt as well as the slogan "ALL STAR KEIRIN WINNER!". The full combination of the images and text creates a very realistic shirt, that I can imagine coming from a vendor outside of a velodrome in Japan.
The green shirt is slightly more subtle in design. This one also features many of the designs in the black shirt but in a more toned down sense. There are also some nice white stars wrapped around the left hand sleeve. It is clear that some good thought and designs went into both of these designs as they really create a good keirin/track image.
It is nice to see a new brand on the fixed gear scene. Keirin enthusiasts may not be down with them, but for the fixed scene these are perfect. They are great for riding with your friends, your next hard court match or just heading out for drinks.
