Lazer Blade XC 2

February 6, 2009

Helmets typically do not fit my head, or is it my head that does not fit the helmet? Either way it is usually too tight or too loose. This all changed when I got my hands on the Lazer Blade 2 XC helmet. This one fits, and it fits good.

The helmet is available in two size options XS-M and L-XL. Two size options to cover a vast array of head sizes seems like an odd choice, but this time it works. My helmet is a L-XL and snugs up perfectly with the Turnfit Pro adjustment dial. When I try to physically move the helmet side to side and front to back, it stays put, without having any pressure points.

The vent count on the Blade 2 XC is low at only 16, but they are huge vents and give great airflow. With the vents and channels you get a nice air flow betwwen the head and the helmet, keeping you cool. The helmet is also multi-impact, which is nice for a change. If you do crash you hopefully do not have to go out immediately and replace your helmet.

I am pleasently surprised with this helmet. I had never heard of the Lazer brand before but it has been the best fitting helmet I have found. Nice shape and style as well, a great helmet.
