Peace Coffee Blends
June 5, 2009
There is a triad in the bicycle world, it consists of bicycles, beers and brews. Well maybe that is just in my world. It was really only a year ago that I hardly even drank coffee and now it is my morning start to a good bike ride. Last year Peace Coffee sent us some of their coffee to try out and it was great. This year we are lucky enough to try our their blends. Twin Cities, Birchwood, and Blue Ox have been on the menu every morning for the last two months and after all that time I can tell you I am a big fan.
The Twin Cities not only home to Peace Coffee it is also a blend of Colombian, Sumatran & Peruvian beans. This blend has a full flavour to it and is no doubt due to the stronger beans put into it. I am no coffee expert but I know what I like and this blend is nice and strong. It is a good start on a cold morning, and PC claims it has a nutty aroma, I claim it tastes good.
The Birchwood Breakfast Blend combines Peruvian FC, Sumatran FC & French beans. This blend is not as dark of a roast as the others, but is by far the strongest. It is not strong in the sense of why am I drinking this though. It is strong in the sense of, now I can conquer the day. With an aroma of molasses, bring it on.
The Blue Ox Blend will have you thinking of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox, but this is really just a blend of Ethiopian, Sumatran & Colombian beans. This blend is a contradiction that works so well. Light, medium and dark roasts all together, huh? Well you know what it all works out in the end. When reading the description on the PC site I was wondering what an aroma of orange, spice, earth, and dark chocolate would smell like. Well it smells, and tastes great.
Peace Coffee is something that makes the world a better place. It makes me wake up and start my day, it gets farmers the money they need and they even have bicycle delivery! For those that have not read it yet you can check out the interview with Meagan who delivers Peace Coffee on her bike. So do your self and the world a favour, try out some of this coffee. FOr me it was the Birchwood Breakfast Blend that really gets me going, but the have a huge selection of coffees and teas to make your day.
