Solder Gal Lockring
July 13, 2009
Never ride without a lockring! That is the motto of Solder Gal. And after you wear one of her rings it may become your motto too. The beautiful little rings are hand made and come in brass, silver or oxide. You choose the number of notches as well. A custom made lock ring for your finger.
The Solder Gal Lockring is one more way to bring cycling into fashion. These rings look good and are well made, and are great for on or off the bike. In general I do not wear rings or any jewelery when I ride off road but I thought I would give these rings a true test. What I found is that it is probably best not to wear them for aggressive riding. They are well made, but if you are gripping the handle bar with any force the ring will either dig into your finger or will slightly bend. In my case it did both.
I found that it was great on the daily commute and all other aspects of my day though, trying out both a silver and a brass ring. The brass is much more delicate and fine and has a lower profile. The silver ring has a bit more substance to it, but still maintains a nice look.
These rings at first glance seem to be a bit of a novel creation, but they are some good looking jewelry. The perfect thing to wear for a night on the town, or to get for your special someone who like bikes.
